The Volcanic Hazard Maps Database: an initiative of the IAVCEI Commission on Volcanic Hazards and Risk. Journal of Applied Volcanology, 12(1), 1-25. https://doi.org/10.1186/s13617-022-00128-9

One hundred nineteen volcanic hazard maps were collected and surveyed for their construction methodology, hazard definitions, and cartographic presentation.  This iteration removes any map not published or translated into English or Spanish, those maps that do not have a reputable (citable) source location, as well as those maps not created by legitimate agencies (e.g. geological survey, academics, civil defence). "Illegitimate" organizations, for these purposes, would include tourism boards without consultation with an agency above, as well as humanitarian organizations' hazard/risk attempt maps.
