• Biography

  I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Concepcion in Chile.
  My main field of research is physical volcanology, with an emphasis on understanding eruption processes through analytical, numerical modeling and geophysical measurements. Projects I am currently working on include understanding volcanic degassing using infrasound, seismicity and gas measurements, and the investigation of volcanic hazards using numerical and probabilistic methodologies.
  
  Before coming to Chile I spent two years at Michigan Techonological University, US, studying volcanic hazards in Central America. Then I moved to Buffalo to work on the development of the Vhub cyberinfrastructure at the University at Buffalo, US.
  
  My background is in engineering (maths, physics, computer technology) and earth sciences (mainly geology and geophysics).
