This group is focused on developing plans for an international user facility for large-scale experiments on volcanic and other geohazard processes.

Examples of processes that might be studied with this facility include (but are not limited to):

• Pyroclastic density current dynamics and deposition on scales of ~100-200 m
  
• Debris avalanche processes
  
• Crater and diatreme development
  
• Magma-water interaction
  
• Large-scale dirty plumes
  
• Testing new remote sensing technologies for measuring eruption processes
