The Commisson will have the following structure:
1. Between one and four co-leaders, one of whom will be an early-career scientist. The leaders will manage the day-to-day affairs of the Commission, and keep Commission members up to date via the website and newsletter. The leaders will be elected every four years, during a Commission meeting at IAVCEI Scientific Assemblies.
2. A Commission Council, which will comprise:
• the Commission leaders
• the leaders of the working groups
• a representative to serve on the IAVCEI Liaison Committee
• the main drivers of Commission-related activities, such as convenors of sessions and workshops at conferences
• members selected to liaise with other related commissions
The Commission Council will represent the hub of members activity involved in Commission activities. The role of the Council will be to:
• Act as ambassadors of the Commission, promoting the Commission’s activities at national and international fora, including conferences
• Actively suggest initiatives and encourage others to suggest initiatives for the Commisson, including convening sessions and workshops at conferences
• Support, encourage and participate in working group activities
• Provide advice, guidance and support to the Commission leaders as needed, for example, acting as a sounding-board for new initiatives.
3. A wider membership.
