The University of Alaska Fairbanks, in partnership with the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology and Kamchatka State University, invites you to our annual field trip to Katmai National Park in Alaska. The trip is scheduled for June 9-22, 2013. It provides a unique opportunity to visit the Valley of Ten Thousands Smokes, the site of the largest eruption in 20th century. Participants will explore products of the 1912 Katmai eruption, i.e. ignimbrite sheet, Novarupta Dome, and Katmai Caldera. |
