Overview

Welcome to Cryo Code Incubator Community!

What is a cryo code incubator?

As cryosphere scientists we understand the importance of programming and software development to advance understanding of our science. We also know that many scientists don't receive formal education in those critical skills. Let's face it, we all spend more time searching github and stack exchange than we want to!

We have created this community to bring together cryosphere scientists to share their code regardless of how polished it is, so that we can learn from each other and build the development skills we need to succeed. Code and resources shared here will be available to community members to use in their own research and as the backbone of new tool development for Ghub through hack-a-thons.

How can I join?

All you need to do is sign up with a Ghub and start sharing! You can ask questions, search what others have shared, and hear about upcoming workshops for community building, education, and collaborative development.

If you already logged into Ghub, just click Request Membership to join the group automatically.

If you are new the Ghub, follow the request membership link to make an account.

Why are you collecting code?

A large component of this initative is building hack-a-thon style events where we can take and range of code from polished notebooks all the way to text files with a useful function and turn them into packages and tools on Ghub.  To learn more see out Contributing Code page and Workshops page.
